Putzmeister engineers design the machines at their main plant in Germany and assemble the components at locations throughout the world.
The manufacture of the components for these machines is almost wholly outsourced. The 50,000 SF building houses offices and a new manufacturing assembly plant. Some of the project highlights are the 40-foot-high exterior walls of the facility, which allows a unique assembly system for the Manufacturer’s special concrete pumps, and the infrastructure plumbing system installed to support water distribution, drainage, and compressed air piping for equipment testing functions.
Four years after the Racine plant opened, expansion plans were developed to double the facilities’ amount of square feet for a Painting & R&D Addition, truck engine load test bays, and 40-foot exterior walls to allow for unique assembly systems for the manufacturer’s concrete pumps.
