After evaluating the current facilities, the building committee determined that consolidating Public Works operations is the most efficient solution instead of maintaining multiple outdated buildings.

The city’s initiative to create a centralized facility aimed to improve operational efficiency by consolidating vehicles, equipment, and office spaces for the Public Works and Parks & Recreation departments. This new facility includes administrative offices, meeting rooms, a garage for fleet vehicles, and cold storage, addressing previous challenges of moving between four different buildings.

By modern energy efficiency and safety standards, the facility will feature LED lighting that meets Wisconsin’s energy codes and include comprehensive systems for power distribution, fire alarms, and security. An emergency power system with a natural gas generator will ensure essential services during outages. This facility will support the city’s operational needs while promoting sustainability.
