The two-story addition, with its arched ceilings, provides a spacious and traditional feel reminiscent of grand reading rooms of the past. There are quiet study rooms available on both levels and a quiet meeting space for small groups on the first floor. The energy efficiency of the building was increased by installing French doors instead of the automatic sliding doors which let in too much cold air and new high efficiency furnaces. The light fixtures are now energy-efficient throughout the building as well. Additional outlets and a second Wi-Fi hot spot were added to make the space more user friendly to patrons.
