We offer structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and telecommunication engineering solutions and, due to our continued growth, we have an opportunity for a Director of Engineering

This leadership role will oversee the planning, design coordination, construction administration, and ongoing optimization of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with codes, budgets, schedules, quality standards, and sustainability goals.  Responsible for the overall direction and leadership on MEP systems designed and implemented into our projects. Work with each team to optimize and improve the MEP scope of work and design and documentation activities for these disciplines.  This role combines strong engineering, planning, project management, contract management, and people management capabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all MEP-related activities from conceptual design through construction.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of MEP design standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Lead and manage MEP engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and professional development of engineers, designers, and BIM design technicians.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, owners, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems effectively into overall project delivery.
  • Manage the overall financial health of projects – budgets, schedules, value engineering opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all MEP systems comply with applicable building codes, standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IMC, IPC, etc.), energy codes, LEED/ sustainability requirements, and client specifications.
  • Drive quality assurance/quality control for MEP installations and help to resolve technical issues during design and construction phases.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing MEP expertise to proposals, presentations, and client interviews as needed.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and innovations in MEP systems (e.g., smart buildings, energy-efficient HVAC, renewable integration, fire protection).
  • Champion safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives within the MEP group.
  • Provide frequent interactions with clients to build positive relationships and future work opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to support design efforts and client relations.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 15+ years’ progressive experience in MEP.
  • PE licensure required.
  • Experienced in mechanical, electrical and HVAC engineering, execution, and design expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm/protection, plumbing, low-voltage systems, building automation/controls, and energy modeling.
  • Familiar with HVAC design fundamentals, including a background and knowledge/awareness of IMC, IBC, IECC, ASHRAE, FGI, and life safety code.
  • Proven technical leadership experience in development and implementation of large-scale, complex projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, construction documents, and equipment specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software (Revit, AutoCAD, Trace 700, COMcheck and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams as well as clients.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead design efforts to ensure that the design intent is achieved.
  • Design of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems, including but not limited to: Chilled Water, Hot Water, Refrigerant, Forced Air, Geothermal Source, and Control Systems.
  • Project design, planning, and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate and review plans and work with Municipalities and other approval bodies.
  • Works closely with architectural group and other engineering disciplines to maintain commitment to design and quality.
  • Provide efficiency reviews and/or value engineering options for existing designs.
  • Visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
  • Assist and participate in project pursuits, interviews, and business development activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining production schedules and meeting deadlines.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 10 years’ experience.
  • Licensed PE in Wisconsin.
  • Knowledge & experience with HVAC equipment and installation.
  • Knowledgeable in Revit, AutoCAD, Trace 700, COMcheck and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team.

What you’ll do:

  • Organize and manage structural design efforts for multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Design and layout structural engineering drawings for assigned projects/work assignments including the preparation of plans, schedules, details and specifications.
  • Design structural systems of steel, reinforced concrete, precast concrete, post tensioned concrete, masonry, timber, cold-formed metal framing, and shallow and deep foundations for a variety of healthcare, commercial, hospitality, industrial and institutional buildings.
  • Review and resolve a variety of complex problems, i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult condition requirements.
  • Prepare structural calculations for submittal to regulating authority.
  • Perform and/or coordinate the review of shop drawing submittals and post modifications as needed.
  • Perform construction site observation visits and prepare reports of site visits completed.
  • Exhibit staff development skills through coaching and mentorship; may supervise or coordinate the work of fellow engineers or technicians.

Who you are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10 + years’ experience in structural design; PE licensure expected, SE licensure encouraged.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs including RISA, RAM and ADAPT.
  • Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices associated with design/bid/build, design/build and construction manager roles and responsibilities.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with all project team members.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for providing the project team with high-level electrical design and system-level requirement analysis and documentation.
  • Manage and participate in design reviews and other team development processes.
  • Manage and perform design activities for multiple projects on a day-to-day basis.
  • Lead role in designing electrical systems for a variety of building types.
  • Work with a fast-paced team that supplies critical design engineering support to a variety of clients and key accounts.
  • Design and develop construction documents for electrical power, lighting and low voltage systems.
  • Responsible for the review of construction documents for correctness, code compliance, constructability, and cost.

  • A Bachelor‘s degree in Electrical Engineering and 10 years’ experience.
  • PE, registered in Wisconsin.

  • Lead small groups with the goal of improving design and detailing, drafting processes, and standards, and provides mentorship to less experienced staff.
  • Actively educate clients on technical matters and provide guidance on design details.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Involved outside of the office in client and industry related events, with a focus on business development and building client relationships.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our team.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with the design of site layout, grading, storm water management, drainage, utilities and erosion control.
  • Utilize engineering experience to solve issues related to existing or proposed infrastructure.
  • Project design, planning, QC review, and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate with and work with Municipalities and other approval bodies.
  • Preparation of documents, drawings and reports from concept design through advanced technical design documentation (construction documents)
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with project team of designers and engineers to follow through with tasks and recommend solutions for completing design tasks.
  • Recommend ways to improve process, quality, and coordination efforts.

  • Work under the advisement of a senior project engineer to support design efforts.

 

Who you are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Working towards professional licensure.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Experience in land development design with experience in site development, grading, drainage, storm water management, and permitting.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence/reports and communicate effectively with project team members.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Structural Project Engineer to join our team.

What you’ll do:

  • Knowledge and understanding of project development and design process including design involving steel, composite design, reinforced concrete, precast concrete, post tensioned concrete, masonry, timber, light gauge framing, shallow and deep foundations.
  • Produce contract documents conforming to applicable building codes with guidance and supervision.
  • Basic design and layout of structural engineering drawings for assigned projects including the preparation of plans, schedules and details.
  • Prepare structural calculations.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with project team of designers and engineers to follow through with tasks and recommend solutions for completing design tasks.
  • Perform construction administration tasks including RFI responses, submittal reviews and site observation visits.
  • Visit job sites to verify existing conditions.

Who you are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
  • 3-10 years’ experience in structural design.
  • PE preferred, or EIT and working towards professional engineering license.
  • Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with building codes, zoning regulations and approval process.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and also in a team-oriented environment, with multiple projects and varied deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with project team members.

This position will be responsible for designing and overseeing the installation of structured cabling systems.  The candidate must possess a strong technical background, including expertise in the design and construction of new and modified structured cabling systems.  Success in the role requires excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and plan structured cabling systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Create technical specifications for the proper installation of structured cabling systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their business needs and provide solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to clients and team members.
  • Work with architects and engineers in determining housing, supports, access areas, electrical power supply and cooling systems for telecommunications systems.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing installations and provide recommendations.
  • Create detailed project proposals, cost estimates, and develop system price approximations.     
  • Conduct engineering research to find if present systems and devices can be extended or revised to meet present and future telecom requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Recommend ways to improve process, quality, and coordination efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide innovative solutions to clients.
  • Actively participate in project meetings, interviews, and varied business development activities.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or an associate’s degree in a telecommunications field would be sufficient.
  • RCDD certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing and implementing structured cabling systems. Design experience with low voltage systems; Access Controls, CCTV, Intercom and Distributed Antenna would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity and understanding with intra-building cabling, speech, audiovisual, security, call center, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) all in properly supporting the telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software, as well as Microsoft Office. Revit experience helpful but not required.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations related to cabling systems.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and work independently as needed.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence and reports and communicate effectively with project team members.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
